About Pond Dyes

Pond dyes should be used in the spring for effective algae and plant control. Application is easy by pouring the dye into the pond. It will dissolve and diffuse throughout the water. The first application in the spring will begin to fade in a few months, sometimes earlier. Color is lost due to biodegradation and rainwater dilution. Additional applications of blue pond dye will keep the pond the desired shade of blue. The color prevents late summer algae and aquatic plant growth by preventing sunlight from reaching deeper water and starting plant germination.

Our pond dyes are sourced from non-certified, food-grade dyes and can be used in ponds which are used for fishing, swimming, or livestock watering.
